ADI HELMAN
Adi Helman is Israeli-born multidisciplinary artist, working in the fields of performance, video, and non-fiction writing. She graduated from The School of Visual Theater in Jerusalem, And currently based in New York and working in New York and in Israel. In her work, Adi deals with the inner turmoil that one faces before taking a brave step. She is drawn to movement as a child-like place that is simultaneously centered and untamed, personal as handwriting. As a Qi Gong and Tai Chi practitioner, she is inspired by the possibility of movement to be sharp and minimal as a poem. Adi's most recent work, Body Language, is a solo performance in which she parallels her experience living in New York as an English non-speaker, with the attempt to create choreography as a non-dancer, while Interweaving text and movement.
