MANIC MOONS is an excerpt of a work that stems from Claude “CJ” Johnson’s to raise awareness of the impacts on manic depression. After dealing with his own mental health with depression, he wanted to structure his work based on how he deals with this mental illness throughout his day. In the work, the dancers represent two people that engage in balancing one another to further a trajectory, that is a representation of everyday life. The work develops as a parallel version of how someone's day can develop within 24hrs.
