MON IKER
I am an interdisciplinary artist, creative strategist, and clinical herbalist devoted to the intersection of social and environmental justice. My work spans a variety of media, including design, street art, photography, short film, organizational strategy, and phytotherapy. My artistic endeavors have shown internationally and have been featured in the New York Times. I have extensive experience with art, justice, and education based organizations, ranging from startup CBOs and collectives to medium sized institutions. Administratively, I facilitated the growth of the world’s first queer museum (Leslie-Lohman Museum) and managed mural programs for detained young people on Riker’s Island (Groundswell). More recently, I was Program Director and Executive Consultant for a radical youth art school (Scribble). I am currently in my 4th study year of herbal medicine at NYC’s ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism in effort to lessen the divide between humans and the environment through the healing exchange.
