ZOË GALLE & SYD FRANZ
Zoë Galle is a queer, white, gender fluid femme, teacher, and multimedia improvisational dance artist. Her research-driven work explores the relationship between the body, ritual, sexuality and the inner emotional landscape. She moves between pleasure and rigor, exploring embodiment and effort. She is motivated by collaboration, between people, materials, language, and text and is concerned largely with transference.
Syd Franz (they/them) is a dancer / improviser / drag king / graphic designer who recently relocated from San Francisco to New York. Their work emphasizes collaboration, creative play, and momentum, and lately they’ve been digging into devised theatre, dreaming up highly choreographed group drag numbers, and exploring the fundamentals of mime theatre. They’re curious about working with physicality / movement as a starting point for generating ideas, characters, stories, and scenes, especially with an ensemble.
